To recreate the characters, he finds inspiration in traditional booklets that go back in Antiquity. A that time, text, music and dance were mixed in a ritual celebrating the gods, fighting evil spirits, calling for rain, etc. Along the centuries, they evolved, based on legends, historical facts and often carry a moral significance.

 

This opening  to the world of opera and theater is a source of inspiration for one of Wong Wa's favourite mode of expression : masks.
